In a program which had something for everyone, the Flannelly's put on a great Amateur Show starting at 9.30am with the 90cm class. There were a good number of entries in this class with many using it as a warm up for the next set of classes which carried fantastic rewards such as TV, hot grill, Kyra K jacket, radio/cd player and that is just a taste of what was on offer. Jerry Byrne built a track which was both encouraging and testing at the same time, asking for riders and horse to understand what their "job" was on course. After the downpour on Saturday at Punchestown for the Cross Country and Grand Prix it was a relief that Sunday was not looking nearly as nasty. Even though there were some showers throughout the 90cm class the rest of the day stayed clear albeit a little dark overhead. There were plenty of spectators to enjoy the jumping and support their friends and there seemed to be kids and dogs everywhere which made for very "happy sounds" all through the day. |

| The Two Phase Welcome Stakes was another class which drew the entries - 58 combinations entered this class looking for the "rewards" with the ultimate being the red rosette to hang on the trophy wall at home. There was fierce competition but in the end there were only 10 placings being awarded so you had to get it right to be one of those in the final lineup for presentation. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Editors Note: Please accept our apologies for any spelling errors for both horses and riders - you will have to forgive us because some of the names are very tricky for us Australians! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Martin Wilson won this class in convincing style with Database and made his trip from County Antrim worthwhile - many locals thought he was mad driving for 4 hours to come to the show but he said that the jumping surface was worth the trip because he knew it would be jumpable regardless of the weather and winning two of the major classes certainly made the trip worth his while - Martin also won 10"x8" of his winning classes from jumpingaround.com photos and we had fun sitting with him while he chose the photos he wanted. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Fintan was kept busy as he moved down the lineup of 10 but the smile never left his face as he had words for everyone in the presentation and he was thrilled to hear that everyone enjoyed their round - well why wouldn't they - they made it through to the final 10! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
