Without
sponsors, great events like this one simply wouldn't happen, so as supporters
of Equestrian sport make sure you make the sponsors your first port of call
if their product or service is one you require - and let them know that you
are at their door because of their sponsorship! |

And we continue the pictorial journey of the Cross Country Course at Punchestown on this wild and wet Irish day in 2003 - a day which surprised everyone as we have been enjoying the most amazing Summer which has been followed by a beautiful Autumn of warm and balmy days - the weather reminds your Aussie crew here at jumpingaround.com of home! The next two featured riders might not have made it into the placings - and in fact both were under the enforced retirement after fall of horse - but they have worked no less hard and ridden no less well and to get to Fence 20 and face the fall of horse must be so disheartening for them - in both these cases the horses were fine and got up and made the journey back to the stables with no problems - the riders however were frozen wet beans with a dash of disappointment for dressing but no other damage done! |

Above left and right: Jeanette Brakewell (GBR) and the 15 year old chestnut gelding Over to You came down through the tunnel and over the falls with no problems at all. Below left and right: But something went quite wrong as they stepped up to the Treaty Stone and both horse and rider came down ............... |

Above left and right: But it actually looked worse than it was and both horse and rider were up in a matter of seconds and on their way back to the stables to get dry and warm as quickly as possible is what we imagine would be the priority at this point in the day. As I said Jeanette Brakewell and Over to You were eliminated after this fall but did well to get here in the first place. |

| Left: Frank Ostholt (GER) and Air Jordan take the option and come through nicely - the 8 year old chestnut gelding seems to be coping well as the come around (right) and jump the bridge(left) and all "seems" well at this point but......... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Right: something obviously went wrong on landing from the moment in the photo above to this shot (left) where both horse and rider came down. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Left: This photo is one which shows the forgiving nature of horses - the fall he has endured in not nice conditions and still the horse seems to managing a "smile for the cameras" look on his face with ears pricked forward and no visible signs of stress. Frank Ostholt (GER) is another who was eliminated but we at jumpingaround.com salute you for the work you put into getting here. Frank would have been disappointed no doubt as he was sitting 16th after Dressage and would have been hoping to move up with each subsequent phase. |
