The Accumulator class saw the professional riders making their first appearance today and they certainly put on a great display as the steered their way around the course looking for the best possible points. John Floody had a good show day at Broadmeadows today which started well with a win in the Accumulator class on board Seabird.(pictured below left)
Above right we see Claire and the gorgeous grey Rossie's Diamond as they negotiate their way around the Accumulator class and below left we see Bernie Gaffney clearing the Kedrah House Stud fence with ease and plenty of space to spare between her and the top rail!
Brian Duff, pictured above right, shows that not only does he own and operate a super equestrian centre at Broadmeadows in Ashbourne but he can also jump a super round with the lovely Jessie.
The Pro-Am is a great class which gives the Riding Club riders the fun of competing with a professional rider as their "team mate" - the Amateur rider goes first negotiating fences 1 to 5 and then the Professional rider jumps fences 6 to 10 and there is a noticeable difference in the heigh tof the fences. Christine Walsh left her post at the Secretary's desk to take over the starters flag for the professional riders at fence 6!
The Two Fence Challenge created lots of interest from the crowd and when the final vertical got to 1.60m for the final two riders, Andrew Lyons and John Floody, the excitement came to almost fever-pitch! Andrew Lyons attempted it first and brought the fence down leaving the pressure on John Floody and Durboy and the arena errupted with applause as they successfully jumped this big vertical fence giving John his second class for the show.

Pictured left is John Floody showing his style over the fence in the Two Fence Challenge, the second class he won at this show.

Pictured right: Andrew Lyons came a close second to John in the Two Fence Challenge and he and his horse jumped super well just tapping the 1.60m vertical.
