Day Three of competition - Accenture International Challenge class 3 - Teams
Sponsored by Panama SPA

Wednesday, and the excitement levels were high, with an air of anticipation as it is "teams day" and the lists were out! This year we see two teams from England, two teams from Scotland, a Welsh team and a composite team from England and Belgium. The Course Designer, David "Killer" Cole was on fire and looking for blood - in the nicest possible way!

The best four scores will be counted from each team of 5 to decide the winner - the class will be run under Nations Cup Rules with two rounds and a jump off in the case of equality.

Left: Course Designer, David Cole, takes a moment out to smile for the camera - before building one of his trademark "killer tracks"!

Right: Australian Team Coach, Paul Williams looking very suave in his Team Australia uniform.

With teams events the supporters are so important, especially when the team are a long way from home - below left: Queensland, Australian Rebecca Crack - below middle: from Cheshire Rebecca Lomax for Panama Spa has been a strong supporter of the Aussie team.

Above far right: and the all important "mums" Sue Kermond, mother of Jamie "Kermo" and Mary Long mother of Andrew "Longers" - both Kermo and Longers were part of the 2003 team to Manchester and both have confided in us, in a quiet moment that it is "much better with mum here"!!!!! Awww shucks - boys do love their mums!

Below: The all important course walk - complete with Team Managers

Left: A rider "deep in concentration" as she walks the track!

Right: David Cole, Tom Hudson and Mike Florence deep in discussion

Round one of this two round competition saw all riders very serious about the teams event as they compete for their countries. The standard of all the young riders was excellent and for the Australian riders the experience of riding in a team is not something they often do - so this is a wonderful experience for all of them.
