Tuesday started dry which was a great improvement from the wet that had been the "norm" in the week leading up to this show - so already spirits were higher and the Australian crew being the only team on borrowed horses had a great attitude towards day two of competition! The track built by David "Killer" Cole are designed to knock out the numbers due to the huge entries for the show - and there is no doubt that "Killer" has earned his nickname this week. The Newcomers 1.10m saw another of David's trademark tracks where there were plenty of turns and twists and second fence was a square oxer, three strides to a double - there was no gentle easing into the course this morning and the class was a two phase class and again those going through to the second phase were far and few between. Scottie Barclay was the first of the Australian's out this morning and he was pleased that Moreland Mr Splendid did not "spit him" on course today although he certainly had a couple of serious tries - Scottie rode the horse exceptionally well and the 16 faults he accumulated were not a reflection of the way the horse was ridden. Andrew Long rode The Stinger extremely well to get around with just 8 faults in phase one after having the first fence down and there was a rousing round of applause when he finished as that meant the first two Aussie's had got around without a fall so far, which after Tuesday's rounds was a bonus! Queenslander, Rebecca Crack and Rex van Westland rode a super round and as she went on to Phase Two the Aussie supporters went wild and were very excited when she finished with just 8 |

Below right: Jamie "Kermo" Kermond and his grey mare were another of the improvers and Jamie stayed put in the saddle and finished with 12 faults. |

| Matt Williams was next to go with the dark grey Orice and this horse has plenty of talent and as Matt gets to know the horse a little better it is going better and better for him and in this opening class of Tuesday schedule they had 8 faults which Matt was pleased with. | Longers was the next of the Aussie's and he and Reflex Diamond Clover are certainly getting on well and after an unfortunate knock at fence 1 in Phase 1 they jumped a super round to finish with just the four faults. (photo below) | ||||||||||||||||||||

Above right: Carol Richardson of Panama Sport Horses shows super style over this big oxer on a new horse into their yard. Below left: Scottie Barclay and India Mia were looking good until the brick wall oxer when it came a little unstuck as the bay mare known at home as Princess decided she wasn't going to jump and uncremoniously dumped Scottie over the fence which saw elimination. But Scottie was well pleased with the class as he shared equal first place honours on Celtic Gold with Matt Gilmour and Tiffcrum French, giving this young Aussie his second placing for the show with Celtic Gold (RID 838) |
