Ridley AgriProducts and Kentucky Equine Research become Official Equine Nutritionists to the Australian Equestrian Team.

We are pleased to announce that the EFA has signed an agreement with Ridley AgriProducts (RAP) and Kentucky Equine Research (KER) that provides for nutritional support for the horses in the
Australian Equestrian Team over the next five years.

KER & RAP are now recognised as the Official Equine Nutritionists for the Australian Team until the end of 2008. The new sponsors will provide advice to riders and owners at EFA National squad clinics
and individual advice during major selection events. They will support the team with preparation for travel and during overseas campaigns.

The sponsorship also involves cash and product contributions. Elizabeth Owens, the Equine Business Manager of RAP has provided EFA teams with nutritional advice since 1986. RAP is
Australia’s largest manufacturer of stock feeds and makes the Barastoc, Supastok and StableMaster ranges of horse feeds. KER are an international equine nutrition, research and consultation
company that works with RAP in Australia, as well as marketing the EQUIVIT supplement range. Dr Peter Huntington, KER’s Australian director of Nutrition will lead the provision of advice services from that company.

In addition, KER and RAP will help coordinate the feeding programs for AET horses when they compete abroad, a niche perfected by KER and ably assisted by RAP Export Manager, Jeremy Edwards at recent Olympic and World Games. KER has an unparalleled record in its ability to work with feed manufacturers worldwide to feed equine athletes. This is evidenced by its role as the official feed supplier for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. KER also assisted during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.

The expertise of both RAP and KER in horse nutrition is also acknowledged by their appointment as official equine nutritionists to the Australian Endurance Squad. Endurance riding is an FEI Discipline and forms part of the World Equestrian Games.

Editors Note: Having used the services of both these companies I cannot recommend them highly enough - their collective knowledge and experience is invaluable so even if you are not a member of the National Squads avail yourself of their services if you are having any doubts about your feeding programs.
