Friday June 15th saw the inaugural running of the All Ireland Student Riders Inter Provincial Cup which was well organised by the Irish University Riding Clubs Association. The hard working committee of Maeve O'Reilly, Ken Bray, Amy Lynott, Tara Browne, Sarah Lavery, Rachel O'Farrell and Rhian Fitzgerald put on a great event at the Kildare International Equestrian Centre in Naas.

Forty five riders were selected from universities all around Ireland and these riders then made up 15 teams of three with all four provinces of Ireland represented and this year included a wild card team of International students with Irish student Leah Quinlivan, based at college in the USA joined by Hanna Smith, and Orlaith Carr.

Results saw a very happy Amy Lynott who celebrated her birthday at the event taking first plce in the Show Jumping individual competition, for the Leinster Green Team, who were also second overall.

There was also a Perpetual Cup awarded to Tom Lalor and this was sponsored by Allbed Animal Bedding and the Irish Horse Board sponsored the Perpetual Trophy for the winning team.

Gold, Silver and Bronze plaques were awarded in all classes.
