| The Hi Form Peninsula Cup Winter Associate Dressage Series commenced at Treehaven on Sunday June 13th with fine but blowey conditions. The arena surfaces were in excellent condition with additional surface having been laid on the main arena recently and the warm up area perfect to foot. Hi Form Australia provided great product prizes for the winners of every class. Their products have been re-labelled and winning products included Breathe, Top Line, CompletaVite and PerformaVite. Carola Adolph and Jane Greenman judged the proceedings with a bevvy of very young horses making their first appearances in the preliminary classes. Treehaven is considered by many in the dressage world to be a great place for young horses as the areas are secure with plenty of variable spaces in which to lunge or work youngsters. The organising committee were very flexible with some riders whose horses were overcome with the new surroundings and they changed some times to accommodate further working in of horses. Most riders and spectators took advantage of the heated cafe area for home-made soups, expresso coffee and lunch. Big thank you to helpers on the day Julie Scott & James, pencillors Katie Scott and friend Ashleigh, Marion Barnes and to our great cafe operators Margaritta and Rebecca Scott. The rain managed to stay away for most of the day with very blustery windsin the morning but the lovely Peninsula sunshine came through in the afternoon making conditions much nicer for everyone. Considering the weather most combinations worked very well and many riders opted to have a go at riding above their levels and therefore proving to be a great training series. In form combinations noted were Bettina Winch and Remi Cruise and Bianca Barnes on her chestnut Highborne Baden. The series continues on for two more dates, being 18th July and 15th August. Competitors can enter each competition individually or take advantage of gaining highest points over the series for the ultimate Hi Form Australia 'Peninsula Cups' trophies, rosettes and rugs at each level of preliminary, novice or elementary. | |||||||||||||||

| Editors note:It is great to see and hear that Annie Lever is actually getting time inthe saddle again - this woman would be the hardest working person I know and how she fits into a day what she does, is a mystery and now photos to prove that she is back competing in Dressage! | |||||||||||||||

| The grey that we see Annie pictured on is Gernot K, a 17hh Graf Landau chap who Annie tells me "was very vocal throughout his test but was still focussed on the job at hand" which is very impressive for a youngster at his first outing! And at that size he must have a wonderful temperament because Annie would measure no more than "4' nothing" herself and this is a very big horse for one so petite! | |||||||||||||||
