At just over the half way mark for the Boswell Equestrian National Grand Prix League and the winner could still come from anywhere!

The weather has not been kind to the outdoor circuit but with the proliferation of all weather surfaces there has only been the one cancellation being round 11 at Saintfield which means that riders can continue to prepare their horses for the Dublin Horse Show and the Northern Ireland International Horse Show, being two major international shows on the Irish jumping calendar.

The league is seeing an average of 50 combinations lining up each week for one of the coveted 30 top placings to go through to compete in the Premier League competition which is showing the quality of horses currently in Ireland. A quick look at the breeding of the horses shows the Irish riders have returned to the wonderful Irish lines for their jumpers, with Cruising horses being very popular and proving Cruising was not just a great jumper himself but is producing the goods as a sire as well.

Cavalier is another sire which has always been successful and continues to be so on the National Grand Prix circuit with many of his progeny making the journey through to international level.

Francis Connors widened his lead on the National Grand Prix League with his second placing at Blessington Show on the weekend now sitting on 58 points. Coming in second with 49 points in the league is Tholm Keane and Darragh Kenny on 36 points and Conor Swail sits on 30 points to hold 4th spot on the Leaderboard.

The Blessington leg of the Boswell Grand Prix League was won by Christian Coyle, Francis Connors took second position and Clem McMahon took 3rd place. Young rider, Darragh Kenny continues to impress and took 4th place while Greg Broderick took 5th place and Captain David O'Brien and Newmarket Girl were in 6th place.

As the weather continues to feel more like winter than summer the jumping has seen another cancellation with Ballina having to pull the pin on their leg of the Boswell League on Friday, 6th July, 2007.

No news yet regarding the status of the Omagh leg on Saturday, July 7th, 2007.
