Aga Khan day always sees Dublin buzzing with excitement and the weather, which hasn't been kind this week, managed to give us some sunshine and the best part was there was no rain! For Ireland, the mood was not hopeful of a win for many reasons - they have not been having a great season this year combined with in fighting which would not be helping the morale of the Irish riders. Leading up to this years Dublin Horse Show, jumpingaround.com broke the story regarding Jessica Kurten's refusal to accept her place on the Irish Team and this then saw a place available on the Team. Harry Marshall was listed as was Clem McMahon and when the final team was announced on Thursday evening it consisted of Cian O'Connor with Waterford Crystal, Captain Shane Carey and Killosery, Clem McMahon and Gelvin Clover and Billy Twomey and Anastasia. Dublin Horse Show always puts on a great show and their presentation prior to and on the completion of the Aga Khan Cup is wonderful - the pomp and ceremony is beautifully presented and the huge crowd enjoy every moment of it. Whether a regular at Dublin Horse Show or a first time visitor the pageantry is spectacular and te capacity crowd roared their approval at every stage of the performance. |
