Kill international Summer League
sees a great 1.10m class followed by the 1.20m class!

The 1.10m class saw 36 starters line up for a chance at the final 6 placings!

Taking out first place honours was Sarah Daly aboard her own Kincluny, a bay gelding by Cruise Missile out of Little Miss Muffit by the Chocolate Bean (and this is for real for those who like myself get a chuckle form this breeding) with double clear jumping in 41.03secs.

Julieanne Reynolds aboard her mum's Little Smasher took out 2nd placing (adding to her spoils already won in the 1m class) and I can tell you a little bit abou tthis combination as we have had some fun together throughout the League which began because our photographer, Maggs and I loved the name of this horse! Julieanne is a 16 year old who is going into her 5th year at school and she is not only a super showjumper but also a very accomplished ballerina who has a twin sister. Little Smasher is only 15hh and is a let broken 8 year old by Ballyward Booreen (Connemarra) out of a flat racing mare by Plate Smasher (ah ha now the name makes sense!) and this is his first season of showjumping having done some hunting and eventing in his first season after being broken.

jumpingaround.com wish them all the best of luck on the weekend at Goff's where they are competing in the National Young Rider Championships.

above - Sarah Daly and Kincluny show their winning ways!

right - Julieanne Reynolds and Little Smasher "up close"!

Denis Flannelly and his own Gain Dot Com the handsome chestnut gelding by Drossan out of Narewja, a Narew mare took third place in the lineup with a lovely double clear in 44.49secs and fourth went to Kim Wade with Darragh Hall's mare, Clover Tonic who carries some of Ireland's finest blood being by Clover Hill out of the Smooth Stepper mare Gin and Tonic - they went over the fences double clear in 56.29secs.

Erin Faloona was fifth in the lineup riding Miss Kellett's Snap Light, a mare by Kings Servant out of a Sky Boy mare and they jumped with 3 faults in 44.40secs. Sixth place went to Gavin Dooley riding his dad's Harristown King a bay gelding with breeding unlisted. Gavin is the son of well known and equally well respected farrier to the best, John Dooley. They jumped with just 3 faults in their jump off.

Above - proud mum Rosemary watches as Julieanne is presented with her rosette for second place in the 1.10m class.

The 1.20m class was well supported with 18 starters lining up for the starters gun - again fighting for those sometimes elusive six places on offer. This final was to see Conan Rowan aboard his own roan Cruising gelding out of a Sky Boy mare and they a super clear round in athe very fast time of 29.58secs which was 9.37secs ahead of second placegetter, Denis Flannelly aboard his own Gain Dot Com who also jumped the double clear in 38.95secs.

Denis then went on to also take out third placing with Mary-Lou Cassone's Decadence - the handsome dappled chestnut gelding by Darco. Again more clear jumping from Denis Flannelly and a time of 39.14secs.

Another of Denis Flannelly's International students, Gautama (aka Zack) Tschannerl was right there with Denis when he and Mary-Lou Cassone's big bay gelding Euforia took 4th spot in the lineup with clear jumping in a time of 41.25secs.

Michael White riding Sean Lydon's stallion, Loughehoe Guy took fifth spot. This very nice stallion is by Regular Guy out of a Sandyman Star mare and is one to look out for if you are looking for a throughbred sire as I am led to believe he is just that - a fine stamp of a thoroughbred!

John O'Boyle added a 6th placing to his already achieved 1st placing from the first class, this time riding his own gelding, Calma who sadly has no breeding at all according to his paperwork!

above - perhaps we should offer a prize for guessing what these three gentlemen were deep in conversation about! Could it simply have been "secret men's business"?! Whatever it is it would seem that Michael Hutchins (Irish International rider and he stands Puissance on behalf of Stephen Lanigan-O'Keefe) is holding the floor!
