Matt Williams is a young Australian rider who has had a dream since he was a little boy - and now having turned 21 this month, he is living that dream - showjumping in England and Europe!

Matt has been based in England for a couple of years now, starting out riding for Duncan Inglis, and now leases his own stables at Inglis' where he is now the master of his own destiny but with Duncan just a shout away.

Matt has with him his Australian horse CC Hook and his Australian based owners have since purchased him further horses. Matt's team now consists of the 10 year old Irish bred Kimberley, 10 year old gelding by Coriano called Contact and Stitchmora, a 7 year old mare by Pilot.

Matt has been enjoying quite some success in the UK and in Europe and recently rode Contact to equal first at The Royal Windsor Horse Show in the Six Bar, sharing first place with legendary Irish rider, Peter Charles when they both jumped 1.95m.

In the qualifying Young Rider class at the same show picked up 8th placing with Kimberley. Matt was also invited to ride Contact in the Young Rider Grand Prix where he jumped one of only six clear rounds from a field of 30 and finished in 6th place after two down in the jump off.

Matt has been competing in shows in Belgium and Italy with Contact and Kimberley and is looking forward to a big and successful season in 2006.

Australian, jumpingaround.com correspondent, Kirsten Coote was at Royal Windsor Show enjoying the showring when she came upon Matt and snapped these photos for us. She was most impressed with Matt's riding and commented that he rode super well on lovely horses.
