Boswell Equestrian in Ashford, County Wicklow must surely be one of the best kept secrets in Ireland - jumpingaround.com took their first visit to this fantastic facility and the impressiveness was heightened by a day which saw most classes run in sunshine on a very mild spring day.

Although the secret has not been too well kept judging by the numbers in all classes today including the final leg of the Guidam Spring Grand Prix Tour which saw 51 starters.

Gerry Gorman, owner of Boswell Equestrian - pictured below left - has done a huge amount of work on the property in the lead up to this event with the very flash new upstairs deck - pictured below - and secreatries office being unveiled for the first time today and their second arena on the hill was also in use for the first time.

The new second arena is an excellent addition and as the surface settles with use it will no doubt play host to many excellent classes - the riders were all very understanding of the fact that the depth of this arena was due to it's newness.

One of the great things about this venue is the amount of seating available around the arena for spectators - nobody needs to miss out on seeing the action from perfect viewing areas.
Gerry Gorman is obviously a man who likes horses as there is even an alocated area to take horses for a pick between, before and after classes and most took full advantage of this - pictured below.

Plenty came to watch as this final leg of the Guidam Series was played out - the lead was in the hands of Capt David O'Brien coming into the final round but any of three others were well able to take the lead from him so the excitement was high.

Helena Walsh, Sheila White and David Darragh took time to pose for our camera with Irish Tenor, Ronan Tynan - pictured below left - , who is a keen showjumping supporter with his own team of horses ridden by Tholm Keane.

Dressage rider, Kevin O'Sullivan took time out from his Arklow Training facility to watch the jumping and also had time to catch up with Gillian Kyle, mother of top Irish eventer, Mark Kyle - pictured above right.
Dressage rider from Co. Kildare, Sue Clegg was another who came to watch the jumping with her children, James and Alana - pictured left.
Some took advantage of the beautiful day to set a full picnic which gave them full view of the jumping while enjoying their gourmet luncheon - pictured right.
Movie business Frances O'Reilly, gets her relaxation showjumping and today she jumped well on her own horse and then stayed on to watch the Grand Prix with her pal, Kdevin O'Sullivan - pictured left.
Australian showjumper, Amy Graham, has been in Ireland training in dressage with Niall Quirke and showjumping with Eva Hutchinson and today she joined showjumper MaryAnne Casey-pictured above
at Boswell Equestrian. Both girls jumped well in the second ring after the Grand Prix had finished.
