Glenamaddy hosted the third leg of the GUIDAM Grand Prix Spring Tour for 2005 and the following report comes to us from commentator David Darragh:

The third leg of the Guidam Grand Prix Spring Tour, five show series sponsored by Knightfield Equestrian in conjunction with The Showjumpers Club and The SJAI, took place today at Glenamaddy Eq Centre. 12 started the 2000 euro, 135 cm outdoor course which produced 3 clears for the second round.

First in was Joan Greene with Sceal Eile who put their poor luck of the previous day at Kill International behind them, opening up a credible account of a clear in 37.69, putting it up to her other mount Dunkerrin and that of Gabriel Slattery with Welcome Flagmount.

Then it was the turn of Gabriel Slattery who took on the challenge to pip the leading pair clear in a time of 37.03. All was not lost at this stage for Joan Greene and her second horse by Furisto, Dunkerrin, as they rose to the bait flaking through the track with 2 full seconds to spare coming into the last. Sadly history repeated itself as per the situation in Kill International the day before with the top pole hitting the deck, again, having to settle for second and third places.

Despite the small number of declarations the Guidam Grand Prix Spring Tour attracted a sizeable crowd to spectate confirming the level of interest in a class of this format. Show Rugs, sponsored by Royston Rugs for the series, were presented to the winners Gabriel Slattery with Welcome Flagmount and to the best Young Rider Benny Kuhnle with Roulette Z
