Left: Timmy Clarke at presentation looking very smart in his Wilsher Saddlery gear - Timmy has been supported by the Mt Gambier Saddlery for some years and it is always great to see businesses willing to support the sport of showjumping - these sponsors are to be applauded and thanked for without them we would have no sport.
Right: Melissa Froesch and her lovely stallion Warlord II lead the lap of honour for the 7 Year old's.
Left: Another of the handsome grey stallions was AEA Aspen and Stephanie Djikstra who took out second place in the 6 Year old class.
Right: Russell "Rusty" Morrison is definitely the man of the moment coming off his win in the Sale World Cup qualifier which he then followed up the following week at Tonimbuk with his win in the Victorian Young Horse Classic Cycle with the 6 Year old Joonodooree Farm Didgeridoo who placed 5th this weekend. Rusty is seen here with Arnaud Evain presenting assisted by Tegan Chester.
Left: Boyd Martin is another man of the moment having won Adelaide 4**** and then doing very well here at Dressage and Jumping with the Stars having horses which competed in both categories.
Left: James Harvey, member of the elite KER Young Rider showjumping squad had great success this weekend with 6 year old Thoroughbred mare, Ophelia Knee by Naturalism. This 15.2hh mare has a lovely technique over a fence and Arnaud commented during the Masterclass that this mare would be one to definitely hold onto for breeding purposes as she has the attributes that mix so well with the Sport Horse breeding even though she is perhaps on the smaller side - but as is so often said, admittedly by those with smaller horses, it is not the size of the horse but the size of the jump
in the horse - and being a resident in Ireland now the one which springs to mind is Dundrum and of course there was Stroller and Japaloupe and currently Australian rider James Paterson-Robinson who has enjoyed great success on the 15hh Miss Hans.
Left: Boyd Martins horse shows a nice tight front end and gives plenty of height to the fence in the qualifying class held on the lawns outside the Administration block at Werribee Park - this area lends itself so perfectly to this event and hopefully next year more people will discover this shaded and lovely oasis where they can watch some of the best young horses in the country doing their thing!
