Thursday gave us the most beautiful of mornings where the sun shone on the RDS grounds in Ballsbridge, Dublin and there is nothing more beautiful than horses glistening in the sun.

Add to that the fact that it is Ladies Day and the ladies of Dublin were out in their finery this year - big hats were again the feature fashion item and they ranged from somewhat "over the top" to superbly elegant.

Above left we see subtle elegance - Above centre is possibly one of the most hauntingly beautiful young faces I have photographed in some years and Above right is a .....most intricate hat!
Above left, centre and right - elegant women beautifully dressed - certainly not something this Aussie crew expect to see at a "horse show" but then I guess Dublin Show isn't "just" a horse is it!

The women looked superb and it was great to see the men took special care with their dress as well - and most were in suits and looking very smart indeed!

Below we see the three Harmony Cottage Farm gentlemen looking very suave indeed - taking time out from their bust competition and livery yard in Carbury, Co Kildare. From left to right: Mark Devey, Tony O'Sullivan and Mick O'Sullivan and these three men are no strangers to the competiton arenas of Dublin.
