| and today just wasn't to be Dan Walsh's day - but he did a great balancing job and stayed on board to finish the round - and the brave horse Ashbourne continued on as if nothing had happened - this fence was on the home stretch which was a shame for this combination and they finished with jumping penalties and added time faults. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Course Designer Frank Glynn, makes sure everyone knows he is from the well known Killossery Lodge Stud who have bred some of the top horses in Ireland including Killossery who is owned by the Minster of Defence and ridden by Shane Carey. Killossery and Capt. Carey rode brilliantly this weekend in Italy taking second place in the Grand Prix which was a qualififcation event for the European Championships 2005 and the WEG 2006. With a field of over 50 in the 1.60m GRand Prix they clocked up one of only two clears in round one and when they dropped one fence in the second round they took home 2nd place - an excellent result which no doubt bouyed spirits after what can only be seen as a disappointing Super League result which saw the Irish in last position. Pictured below: Aisling Quinn (in pink), already a very successful young dressage rider, took time out to enjoy the showjumping at Kill International Equestrian Centre today with best mate Alanagh Clegg. |
