The eight fence jump off was designed for both those who wanted to go for a careful clear round and those who wanted to take risks - both were catered for with Killian Clarke's jump off track which saw one new fence added in the middle of the track. The turn from the red and white vertical (fence 2) to the rising oxer (fence 7) allowed for a crazy tight turn for those brave enough to try it and most did give it a try! Brian Duff and Colette B were first to give the jump off track a try and again as the trailblazers they proved it was possible to go clear through it and they stopped the clock at 47.28secs with no jumping faults - the door was open for those who could jump clear to beat his time! |

Brian Duff and Colette B - pictured left - as they come over the first fence in both Round 1 and the jump off, the CoilOg Nurseries fence. Second out was Eddie Moloney and he had the start that most dread - the hail came and the first fence dropped and then another and so Top Dollar and Eddie - pictured below - finished with 8 faults in 64.29secs. The spots you see on the horse are the lashing rain! |

| Peter Smyth and Mary C. Barron's Party Time M - pictured below - set off at a cracking pace, took the turn between 2 and 7 and the crowd roared as they successfully jumped the rising oxer but then another fence on course came down leaving them with 4 faults in 53.08secs. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Fourth rider out was Richie Moloney and William Smyth's Millfall Hill and Richie had the pedal to the metal and was looking for a clear round - all was going to plan and the crowd roared when he took a long spot to the last and successfully came through the finish flags clear jumping in 47.40secs | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
which provisionally put Richie into 2nd place behind Brian Duff who still held his lead at this stage by 0.12secs. Richie and Millfall Hill are pictured below left. Delyth Collins and Ronnie Hollinger's Creevagh Duca Diamond - pictured below right - found the ground very slippery under foot in the jump off and after a cracking first round missed out on placings today. |

Gabriel Slattery and his own Welcome Flagmount took it carefully on this slippery track and this stallion is one to be minded - they finished with 4 faults in 53.45secs to miss a place and points today. Sarah Kate Quinlivan was next to go riding Billy Daly's Newmarket Girl - pictured below left - and this super combination motored around this jump off track as if it was a 1m class - the ground did not effect this super sure footed mare and as they came through the finish flags the crowd showed their appreciation for a class jump off which saw the clock stop at 44.44secs with no poles on the ground, putting Sarah Kate provisionally in 1st place and pushing Brian Duff to 2nd place at this stage knocking 2.84secs off his time. |

Paul O'Shea was next out, on the first of his two in this jump off, Paul Clarke's Burgraff gelding The Patriot - the chestnut with the amazing markings but today they finished with 8 fault sin the careful time of 57.90secs. John Floody made his intentions clear with Ringwood Construction's Athea Clover Mist - pictured below - as they came through the start flags but the new fence added (number 14), which jumped in the middle of the course took them by surprise when it fell, leaving them with 4 faults in 46.16secs. |

| Christian Coyle and the attractive Glenkeen Highlight were next to give it a try and they got over | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| the first fence well but fence two took them by surprise when it fell, but with just the one fence down they came through the finish flags with 4 faults in the careful time of 51.24secs. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| At just over the half way mark we still had only the two clear rounds from Brian Duff and Sarah Kate Quinlivan and now it was Brian Duff's turn to try and better his own position, this time riding the very flash Concord 41 - pictured below right - and all was looking good until the penultimate fence, the big oxer at the warm up end of the arena tumbled leaving them with four faults in 46.83secs. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Richie Moloney and Tom Moloney's Appolinaire were next to take on Killian Clarke's jump off course and Richie was definitely trying to win this class and he made that obvious to the spectators as he came off fence 2 and took the tightest possible turn to the rising oxer which was fence 7 but he did take it too tight and the fence tumbled and so Richie took the pressure off the horse finishing with 4 faults in 48.73secs. Michael Cave and Suzanne Posnett's Amulet were next out and they had a cautious trip around the track finishing with 4 faults when the newly added vertical numbered 14 came down and their time was 59.13secs. Two left to be able to topple Sarah Kate from winners position and both were more than capable - Peter Smyth and Edmund Simpson's Standardbred Zara's - pictured below - and they jumped with their usual flair but today took things cautiously finishing with clear jumping in time of 53.72secs |

With one left to go in this 16 horse jump off, Paul O'Shea and Paul Clarke's mare Mahon Point - pictured below - was the only one who could snatch the victory from Sarah Kate Quinlivan but today was to remain Sarah Kate's day when Mahon Point uncharacteristically dropped a fence to come home with 4 faults in 47.84secs leaving the win to Bill Daly's Newmarket Girl. |
