The Whitaker name has been synonymous with the elite level of showjumping for more decades than many supporters have been in the sport - and the Whitaker's are heroes among the home crowd as well as showjumping people around the world!

For a Whitaker to be caught out with a banned substance in a time when many of the top level riders are under clouds which suggest there is less than a "level playing field" has come as a shock to many in the sport.

As soon as the news came out that Tackeray had tested positive, Michael Whitaker said that it must have happened as a result of a cross contamination in the feed room, as he has a mare which has the correct paperwork to compete on Regumate.

Whitaker will be back in competition as from October 25th, 2009 and no doubt he will be out in full force for many of the final big shows for 2009, including Olympia.
