As the clock came to 2.30pm on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Coolgreaney, there was an increasing sense of something big about to happen - the crowds increased, the laughter and ringside fun increased and so to the novices of the sport of polocrosse, we knew something good was happening!

Yes it was nearly time for the Grade A Tournament - and these were the "big boys and girls" of the sport - the highest ranked players and we were fortunate enough to be treated to some ofthe top players in the country and even and Aussie import!

Avis Wotten- pictured below right - International Polocrosse Coach is based at Carrickmines and has represented Australia on many occasions and is widely regarded as one of the best women players in the world, so we were definitey being treated to the best here today in the Grade A Tournament.

Also sitting on the sidelines, we found another Aussie, Tracey Webb (from Sunbury in Victoria) who was visiting with Waterford friend, Karen O'Keefe - they met in Australia through Polocrosse and so only natural that they should take a trip to Coolgreaney to watch the matches today - pictured below
Chairman of the host club, Wim Bakker - pictured right - took on many jobs throughout the weekend and found himself holding horses while organising the umpires to arrive for the next match.
Performance specialist vet, Will Lalor- pictured left - took time out to catch up on Racing News while watching the matches today.

And then it was time for the match - a fast and furious pace was set from the begining for these top level players.

The two teams playing today were Carrickmines, in the black shirts versus Horetown in the red shirts and when the final whistle was blown the Horetown Team had won by 1 point.
