Garibaldi, sire of Totilas amongst others,
has died..NEW Garibaldi,
himself a Grand Prix performer, was recently awarded preferent sire at the
licence testing for 2010. Graribaldi has sired what could well be the greatest
dressage horse ever seen in Totilas died after he suffered a ruptured aorta.
The stables of Edward Gal are heartbroken over this loss saying "We
can't believe that his happened to you. You'll be in our hearts forever. Rest
peacefully, dear Gribaldi....

A tragic road accident takes 17 year old
Jaime Stroud.... In
one of life's worst tragedies 17 year old Jaime Stroud and her 59 year old
father, Chris were killed in Kilmore Victoria Australia one week ago. Jaime

News to hand of Eric Levallois after
a serious car crash.... Eric,
a member of the Team Gold showjumping team in Jerez at the 2002 World Championships
is recovering from a car crash which saw him undergo surgery. He will be transferred
to a rehabilitation hospital in Rennes in a few days and although in a very
serious condition hopes are high for his recovery. It is still too early to
say whether the 46 year old will showjump again.

of two... In
a thrilling jump off in Vegas tonight, alst to go, MMB flew home, leaving
no shortcut out with the exceptional Shutterfly winning the 13 horse jump
off with a clear round in 32.77 from American McLain Ward and Sapphire who
finished clear in 33.77secs. Third went to very popular Albert Zoer and Okey
Dokey with their clear round in 34.7secs.

hosted World Cup Final jumping clear all the way with Shutterfly in the Table

Peters took the honours at the Dressage World Cup Final in Las Vegas today,
beating Anky van Grunsven and Isabel Werth. Peters was given a 9 by the judges

Christian Ahlmann hearing handed down... Christian
Ahlmann has received a 4 month (120 day) suspension
after his positive test to Capsacain in Hong
Kong. This decision, combined with that of Denis Lynch and Bernardo Alves
certainly confirms Pessoa's complaint of the great variations in the decisions
being handed down by the FEI considering that 4 of the 5 tested positive to
the same substance.

notification from the FEI sees Denis Lynch receive a 3 month suspension from
International competition begining on 21st August through to 21st November,

news just in from the FEI is that Rodrigo Pessoa's horse Rufus has also
returned a positive test to the drug nonivamide, part of the capsaicinoid

all these horses can't suddenly have such bad backs that they all require

Hendra virus overnight.. It
was announced this morning that Australian vet, Ben Cunneen, who was hospitalised
when he contracted the deadly Hendra virus died overnight in the Princess

McMahon did not show for the jumping today - the story direct from the Lang-McMahon
camp - "the mare warmed up superbly and on the final vertical before

a spectacular display from Germany's Isabel Werth, the Team Gold belongs to

German Dentist takes home the Gold for Eventing.. In
a spectacular, nail biting final for the Individual Eventing medals, Megan
Jones nearly had the Bronze in the bag till the final fence fell leaving her
out of the medals. Ingrid Klimke for Germany also out with a fence down -
but the evening belongs to Hinrich Romeike, a full time dentist who has the
super horse Marius - a medal well deserved. Silver goes to USA's Gina Miles,

Quarantine lifted on Hendra virus affected
Vet Clinic, Australia..... Earlier
than the announced 2 week quarantine it appears it is "business as usual"
at Redlands Vet Clinic in Queensland Australia with initial testing coming
back. One staff member has had a positive return sample to the Hendra virus.

Paralympic Games later this year. Eilish Byrne and her flashy Dutch warmblood

to train with Niall Quirke to ensure doing her country proud. Eilish,
43yo, has spina bifida and competes in Grade 2.
