Sunday begins early! And the threatened bad weather looks like it is going to be more than a threat as the Horse Trials eventing begins the day at 8.30am for the 2* eventers. Eleven combinations ran in the last phase after gruelling days of dressage and cross country - first out, Sonja Johnson and Parkiarrup Illicit Liaison - pictured below - headed out first (even though they came into this phase in 5th position as Sonja had two in the top five) and they set the standard when they jumped clear well within the time allowed! |

| After
Sonja we reverted back to the seeded draw which saw Shaun Dillion collect 20
faults, Emma Dougall and Major James put in a super effort to finish with just
four faults for the one rail down but Emma Mason did not fair so well finishing
with 24 faults. Robyn Brown was another who had a few troubles on her trip around the track to finish with 16 jumping and 9 time penalties. |

Gordon Bishop and Hoc's Benny Hill finished with 8 faults and Deon Stokes and BHL Blueprint clocked up 16 faults. Hamish Cargill and Powderhound put in a very respectable round finishing with just four faults while Sam Lyle and Scribbly Park Sorcerer left three on the floor for 12 faults. Sonja Johnson (the only clear round to date) clocked up the second clear, this time riding Le Directeur - pictured below left and right - and this clear put the pressure on Kevin McNab and the stallion Belcam Caeser. |

| Kevin McNab already had a win under his belt with the 1* rug and winners spoils already his and now he was in the position to also win the 2* - and he and Belcam Caesar - pictured below left and right - did exactly that as they danced around the John Vallance track leaving all the fences in place and stopping the clock well under the time on course - and Kevin McNab added yet another saddle to his tack room as the winner of the 2star! | |||||||||
